Convertible Night

Tasteful fear as she dims the light,
A breath of air on her naked skin
She shivers,
Closes the open window...
There lies her mate
Bedroom floor, he is molded into the rough ground

She escapes to the dark, convertible night
Empty is the sky, appearing with no stars
Fields are ablaze with dwellers of the sacred land
And they calling to her
She stops the car,
Moonlight dawning on her

Words unspoken by the quiet tribe,
She drives on
Through forests of green
And lakes with sunrise crawling on its waves
The funfilled exhibition
Terror starts for another night
Dark, still convertible
Butterfly's silk wings,
Broken
