And from that tortured darkness
Of thy treacherous mind
A beam of light folds across my eyes
The rain that soaks the soul of life
Holds only cleansing for your heart
For all shall forsake the unusual ones
Because all are scared of what is different
Oh yet what lurks in the shadows of our minds?
What growls in our ears?
And frightens the very seed of our being…
What acid pours upon our heart?
That forms a whole of shame
Yet sacred as it may seem
It’s words of greed and judgmental thoughts
Have left us only loneliness
Our existence holds a painful reality
Of our dreaded inevitable mortality
And yet we live from land to sea
To share our pains and joys
With everyone, for all to see
