I think the days we used silence as a weapon
you were just another break in the wind
another second and another minute
you are beautiful, kissing my hand
time slows down to one pause
another picture is uncolored
anytime I hear your whisper
my secret is again revealed

Times when we could look back
sensual and deep
I wish I'd never known you
the feeling I had to keep
all along you were a lie unoticed
no warning ever told
I was just your butterfly
you were just my goodbye
the music fainted in the background
you almost let me go
the last embrace could be falling
but probably only for the show

The knock on my front door
the day you never called
the thoughts I felt sorry for
and the car that crashed to hell
my wonders are beyond me
myself and I are gone
when you disappeared
I was never pretty for long
