She sits alone
In solemn darkness, she owns
A sense of instability
Unfelt, and so, unknown
And while her face is pale as snow
Dying pigment, bleeding heart
Her eyes are alive with fire
Burning bright and
Burning strong
And she fights the inner turmoil
That binds her hands
And binds her feet
Preventing her from moving
But allowing her to breathe
And so she keeps on living
Through a shield of steel and stone
With a purebred soul that's dying,
And she's dying all alone
The world was meant to keep her
Hold her safe, and that it will
While it sucks her mind of freedom
And leaves her heart as black as coal
The others can pretend
That they see and share her pain
But the locket 'round her slender neck
Encases a sorrow, can't be named
Each day she must remember
All the trials she went through
Mishaps and mistakes made in
A love so ever true
And everything around her
Reminds her of that day
When with silent tears and trembling hands
She watched him fade away
Her eyes are wide and open
To the tragedies abound
But her vision's cold and clouded
By the grief her heart has found
And when people say they understand
She can't look them in the eye
She knows that though they try to help,
They're willing her to die
To swim among the memories
And the waves, they swell so high
She's drowning now, she's lost the shore
From her lips escapes a sigh
She looks forward to that special place
He'd entered long before
And as she sails among the clouds,
Her spirit begins to soar
For once in months she smiles
Looking up she sees his eyes
Bathed in white, a golden gate
He beckons her inside
Once again she feels his hand
Caress her lonely side
As he loops his arm around her,
And towards the light they fly
He'd waited all this time for her
For months he had been true
He kissed her sweetly, missing lips
He'd always loved before
And together they walked hand in hand
Him finally by her side
Heart and soul
Body and mind
For now her tears had dried.
