On a Bed of Roses

Hidden beneath gossamer thread, and my robe of shame,
You saw me as I once was.
You brought me out of the darkness,
Wiping the tears away,
With the lightest of touches.
You saw the beauty in me that my pain had hidden.
You said that you'd take me away from it all,
And never let anyone else touch me again.
My heart lept with joy.
You dressed me in the finest of silk and satin dresses,
With gemed slippers on my feet,
I glided over the floor.
I could see you smiling at me from across the room,
With a glint in your eyes.
You called me beautiful,
The purest and softest rose.
I was seduced by your wrods,
And the light in your emerald eyes.
I fell into a state of bliss,
That I never wanted to escape from.
I could look at noone else,
Because you were all I could see.
We walked through your rose garden,
Breathing in the night air and the scent of roses.
The stars shined brightly,
And there wasn't a cloud in the sky.
You had your arm around my waist,
Leading me on,
And I followed,
Because I would go anywhere with you.
You stopped and stooped down,
Plucking a red rose off of a rose bush and handed it to me.
It's beautiful, I said smiling.
Your eyes smiled at me as you kissed the back of my hand,
Saying that it could never be as lovely as I.
I must have blushed as red as the rose in my hand,
Because you grinned at me.
I ducked my head,
And your hand came under my chin,
Tilting my face up, so that I looked at you.
Your lips met mine,
And I melted in your arms.
The rose was crushed between us as you pulled me closer.
Shaking, I gave myself up to you.
You whispered the words that I had longed to hear for so long.
Tears spilled down my face as I gave you my answer.
You treated me with nothing but respect as you slowly undressed me.
You paused to tell me that I was beautiful,
And that you loved me.
Shivering, each time your hands passed over me,
I let myself relax.
We passed the night away in a state of ecstacy,
Our cries filling the night air.
When we finally lay beside each other,
Our bodies entwined,
We smiled at one another,
Whispering once again words of love that would never fade.
