Lying here, scared to move,
After another violent assault,
I crawl from my bed to the corner
Where slowly, i start to rock.
I sit here huddled up
Willing the shadows to eat me,
Scarred and bruised I sit and wait
For you to hurry up and leave me.
Sitting here curled in a ball
Tighter than any fist you make,
I hear your steps come towards me
And hear you call my name...
Lying here, black and blue-
Bruised and red from bleeding,
Lying here in my corner,
No longer fearing you.
Lying here, in a peaceful dream
I slip away forever,
Violence ruined my life forever
But now, no more tears will fall.
Lying here, in undisturbed sleep
I feel your presence beside me,
You look me in the eye
And you tell me you love me.
