I lay upon the roof top gazing at the stars
I want to reach and grab them but they are way too far
If only things were perfect as they are when I'm asleep
For every waking moment, all I do is weep
When I sleep, I'm safe, no harm will ever come
I feel like I belong, my dreams are my home
Adrift on clouds, or laying near the beach
Flying in the summer sky, or eating the sweetest peach
Only these happen in my precious slumber
I cant even count these dreams, its too big of a number
My life outside dreams is complicated, nobody even knows
I try my best to hide it all, I wont ever let it show.
I'm still laying here watching, every star in the sky
Wishing to forever dream, wishing for me to die
One day I'll find happiness out side of my dreams
And when I do, the crying will stop along with my daily screams
