I sat and ran my fingers gently through her hair.
Her eyes were transfixed at the shadows.
Her body was warm and her slow breathing matching mine.
Her hand found mine and we sat and stared into nothingness together.
She rested her head on my chest. Vanilla tempted my nose as I caught a whiff
of her hair.

Always searching.

and the silence of broken dreams lingered in the air.
