The Truth of Us All

With eyes of steel that see nothing but their own reflection,
They live in their own world, filling it up with hate as if by an
infection.
As if spurred by anger and hate,
They pay no attention to the people around them, refusing to relate.
They turn a blind eye to suffering and pain,
Wondering what they can gain.
Walking hand in hand into their own oppression,
Seeing no need for guilt, with what has become their obsession.
They cannot see their own flaws,
Laughing at others, having their words fly at them, stinging through their
jaws.
Looking at themselves, they look so perfect,
Not considering the lives they have wrecked.
But soon their walls will come crashing down,
They will fall just like all the others who they used to renown.
They do not want to believe in the truth of us all,
And that is, no matter our status, we all will fall.
