Would You?

If I gazed into your eyes and
Caress you tenderly,
Would you accept my unconditional love
Or will you pause and retreat?
Do you already know my longing for you
And the secret desire of being close to you tonight?

Tired of being toyed with
I am too much of a woman to be a man’s plaything
Have sipped the nectar of bitterness deceits
Do you feel the same way for me?
Are you ready for commitment and more
Or will you find an exit door?

Would you embrace me near
As our souls are drawn as one into the night?
Help me conquer my fears of past rejections
And to hold on to trust and faith in true love?
Can you see where I am coming from and
would you stay until dawn?
