"Follow your heart for never will it lead you astray,
but neglect not your mind for it habitually keeps trouble at bay."

Thats what they always would tell me,
That my heart would know where to go,
And that my mind would protect me, always.
But what they didnt know,
Is that the mind also cheats.
It tricks you, trains you into believing countless lies.
So when my heart doubted his love,
And my mind took his word as enough.
I prooved them all wrong.

Let my broken heart and bloodied blade be proof for you all.
That even the wisest can be led astray.
The heart can protect,
When the mind will lie.
You can look for the truth,
Hidden in your own eyes.

Shadows and darkness are nothing to me now,
My heart protected me, led me from harm.
His broken corpse is proof of it all.
He tried to hurt me, in more ways than one.
Though my mind believed his lies,
My heart held me steady erasing those lies.
So when he would have hurt me,
I reached for the knife,
My heart led me true and tought me a lesson.

The mind wont allways protect you,
Sometimes it lies and your heart cannot help you,
No matter how hard it tries.
So listen to both, not one or the other.
For in equal measure they compliment each other.
