Colors Of Autumn

Waiting for leaves to turn autumn colors
Longing for the kiss of cool air
Wishing all that surrounds me would be at ease
Needing a spirit to see me throughout the lonely night
Thinking of thoughts that I've had before
Asking myself why and when
Pretending to be invisible
To hide away and write
To creep into a sacred place
And let my mind flow into the seduction of the night
Gazing at the quiet sky and at one star
It seems to smile, it seems so alive
But my only friend being lonely moon
For the stars have many of their kind
And the moon shines alone
I sit in this spot because I find it significant to me
I find it as being something I call my own
Until the day that another may find it
Until the colors of autumn may arrive
On this day I may venture the whole world
Have something write about for each special spot I claim
For each unique drop of rain
Nothing calms the heart like that of the cool air
And the colors of autumn
Nothing makes life more meaningful that change
Just as the colors of each foliage change
We change
