Downfall

This is the year of destruction,
When all our lives are under construction.
With travesties untold,
And forgiveness on hold.
Eyes are blinded with oppression,
As our world seeps into a depression.
Blood pours from the sky like rain,
Signalling everyone's pain.
Ghosts return to haunt once more,
Forgetting that they aren't living anymore.
The streets are littered with the outcast and rejected,
To live in a life where all will be neglected.
Words that once meant something have been forgotten,
Faith is lost along with everything that is now rotten.
This is the downfall of us all,
To be trapped in an everlasting squall.
