My Ashen Rose

Here I lay a pile of ash
My once life turned to dust
blows away in the breeze
and all was forgotten
but there you were, my ashen rose
lying in what was left
the winds changed and brought me back
you brought me back
with you here it can be
it will be
my ashen rose brought back the joy
you brought me love
I can never ask for more
than what you've given
you are my one rose garden
the ashes of the good are what came back
and something else as well
my ashen rose, I remember how
how to love again
and you, my ashen rose, are what my love longs for
