Alone in the End

Far beneath the velvet sky,
upon the fields,
lay you and i.
Softly,
I whisper words of love,
but your eyes just stare heavenwards.

A kiss i place lovingly upon your cheek,
away from me you just turn your head.
By your side i softly weep,
for your love i failed to keep.

Your lips already blue and cold,
as blood dries on your clothes.
Your body ravaged by bullets i fired,
a rag doll, now claimed by death.

My painful cries heard by none,
for now,
i truly am alone.
