Lipstick lines and eyes of pain

Mask of conviction and veneer of rain

Darkness clouds every lash and pore

Mask is feigned down to her nature's core

Perversions of night to entice and placate

Disregard the inside for a foundation of self-hate

Looks to others for misplaced perception

To conspire for love and add to affliction

She becomes more despondent with each passing hour

Each stranger's hand more detached, cold and sour

Her laceration becomes grander with each scent and whisper

A reflection not of myself, but of my unlit sister
