Lost at the Horizon
An Elegy

Laughing as the sun lingered at the horizon
Smooth reds and yellows painted across the sky
Body heat draws us close: love draws us closer
A kiss shared, our bodies explode from inside out
Stroking each others face a sense of peace and tranquility
Strumming each others heart; as if playing an instrument of love

Our love has flown as a bird from a cage
Fluttering out the window stopping for a second to look back
Continuing on its journey, further and further 'til out of sight
Flying forward to the horizon until they meet
Our love has blown like a breeze on a fall evening
Whipping winds, scraping faces as a diamond on glass

A dead silence except for the pound of my heart
Alone, love is broken, the glass is shattered
Darkness as the cold creeps and seeps in
A longing to be invisible; escaping the pain
A feeling of awkwardness as love eludes me
Hope is lost, death can come no sooner
