Everything Will Be Just Fine

It's been difficult.
It's not all that easy...
And it never has been.
They always tell you
To keep up your chin,
Slap on a grin
And everything will be just fine.

I believed them
Until I succumbed to
The voices within,
Always urging and
Urging my sin,
Once you can win...
And everything will be just fine.

It's weird...
You shift and you morph
Just to please the cliche
You take to heart
Every word that they say.
But when love comes your way,
You shut out the compliments.

We try
Light waves and time
Affect us each day
Radiates heat
And controls what we say
We lock the door...
But the bolt gives away
And we must face our fears.
