I fought for my life

I fought for my life,
Did you fight for yours?
Do you know what it's like behind hospital doors?
People yelling and IVs dripping,
I really hope this machine stops beeping.

The day i was born,
3 1/2 month early,
I was taken away,
To the NICU.

When I was 14 days old,
I had my fifth operation,
9 hours long,
Everyone said I'd never see 2.

I fought for my life,
Did you fight for yours?
Do you know what it's like behind hospital doors?
People yelling and IVs dripping,
I really hope this machine stops beeping.

Here I am 14 years old,
24 surgeries and a few more to go.

My life has been going so fast,
But my time in the hospital,
Went by so slow.

I fought for my life,
Did you fight for yours?
Do you know what it's like behind hospital doors?
People yelling and IVs dripping,
I really hope this machine stops beeping.
