Do you sleep easy at night
When I'm crying to sleep?
Do you know how I'm suffering so
While you're dreaming deep?
'Fine' doesn't always mean fine.
Do you hear only what you want to hear?
I hurt and burn inside
And shed many a secret tear.
I can't trust myself
I won't trust you no more.
So how can you sleep at night
When I'm crying on the floor?
If you'll always be there for me
Then where are you now?
Are you dreaming peacefully
While I kick and flail?
Maybe you're awake
Maybe you're thinking of me.
Wondering if I'm asleep
As if I ought to be.
