Mind racing, almost too fast to keep up,
Wondering why I did this and that
Yet my body remained perfectly still,
Moving just to cover my eyes with a hand
Darkness blinding, silence screaming
As sun burns in through a crack between two fingers
Waiting for my bloodshot eyes to drain,
Yet they remained perfectly dry;
A testimony in an experience far exceeding tears.
Anguish eating away at my soul,
Why?
The people placed next to me
Smiling faces, joking voices,
Not even wondering why I'm acting this way
They don't care, they don't know, they don't realize
This stabbing sorrow gnawing through flesh and blood.
My voice expelled a quiet groan
As I sank to the floor and stared hard into space,
Hope? Such a thing never existed
Lost in the maze of my internal pain.
