The blackened truth seeps in from under her door again,
Turning her dreams to nightmares,
As heartache and sorrow flood her mind.
She's run from it before,
But can she run again?
Her fear has formed shackles on her limbs,
Restricting her to her helpless,
And tortured hallucinations.
Whispered curses,
And haunted eyes,
Stare at phantoms that never existed.
She can't make them go away this time.
They are there in her cage with her,
Tortured souls so like herself.
She tears at her eyes,
And screams in rage,
To try to make it all fade away.
But pain is ever present,
And her dreams are no exception.
