twilight of the idols

You lie there face stretched waxy and thin,
why couldn't you have said something, begun again,
the times you smiled and held me crying,
to your warm chest as i dreamt of dying,
but i see you lying there, cruel victim of your own gun to your head in a
world that no longer makes sense.
and i never once told you
i loved you.
