Drown, My Dear

You nurtured me and lead me here,
You comforted me and soothed my fear,
You brought me out and left me here,
And so, drown my dear.

You held me tight and healed my wounds,
You were my light in a dark room,
Forever in my memory you’ll loom,
Awaiting your own doom.

You held me close when times were grim,
You said you loved me, limb for limb,
But when times were tough you’d leave again,
I pray you don’t return, my friend.

My heart grows hard in spite for you,
Wondering why you do what you do,
But even so my hatred grew,
Each time it was anew.

Your very thought makes my blood boil,
Of your demise I often toil,
My hopes and dreams you did foil,
I do hope you don’t tread this soil.

After everything you’ve put me through,
All the things you’ve made me do,
Each time breaking my heart in two,
I knew what I must do.

I picked you up and brought you here,
My emotions for you were quite clear,
No longer do I hold you near,
And so, drown my dear.
