Look left
look right
we laughed in the fire
and danced in the rain
told me to go to the river
wash away all the pain
dead blood on my arms
two scratches on my thigh
told me to grow old in
the river in the sky
told me to tell time in the town of goodbye

And there we were...
up there
flying into wonderous blue yonder
where the young must go
time was going by so slow
that's the way I like it
if you should know

I think you can tell
when my eyes will be drifting
tomorrow when the sun comes down
lay with me in the field
to the beautiful limit we'll go
in the fresh breath of free
until the fire goes to sleep
