He's bad news,
they tell me.
He's into all
sorts of drugs,
he drinks,
and he's not
worth my time.

Oh, but when he
walks by,
when he takes the time-
oh, might there be
a softer side?
And if there is,
is he worth my time?

He's a bad kid,
they tell me.
He'll act like a gentleman,
but he's a bad one.
He might lie, and
he's not worth
my time.

Oh, but when he
walks by,
when he takes the time-
oh, might there be
a softer side?
And if there is,
is he worth my time?

I get into this mess
with the same
type of guy.
I do it every time,
and I still don't
know why.
He's just another
bad guy, who gives me
butterflies.
He shouldn't be
worth my time.

Oh, but when he
walks by,
when he takes the time-
oh, might there be
a softer side?
And if there is,
is he worth my time?

If he takes the time
to walk by just to say hi
and he's only seeing me,
could he be
worth my time?
If he takes the time
to give me a smile,
and if he, before I leave,
has to tell me 'good-bye,'
could that softer side
be even worth my time?
If he's just a guy,
is he really worth my time?
