The Storm

When
things are dark
and wind picks up
when
shadows creep
and stretch forming
scary scenes
then thunder rumbles
from left to right
as a flash of light strikes
that seems to bounce and dance, then vanish
when the air
grows cold and thick, then
you feel the rain wet and sharp
like pin-pricks on your skin
this is the time, when
people scatter and run
for shelter, but
I do not
really I am attracted to the rage and danger of
the storm
that cause others fright
for you see
that is my safety net
the chaos and torment of the storm
is in me always
but when the storm hits
I can sit back
watch
no longer fighting
cause I
am truly free
