The Lonely Hearts Lullaby

In a world far and near,
Lived a girl whom was quite queer
Her home was high up in a tree
So all her lands she could see
Her pointed ears were keen
Her luminous eyes were green
Her hair was the color of mulberry
Her character was quite merry
She sang her saddened lullabies
Into the night's yawning skies
As it wept it's lonely tears upon her
The lullaby was of this order.
“Many times have I searched for what could be
The end of this dismay, I just want to be set free.
With all my tears, I have made an ocean
To dream of being freed is my only notion.
Now with nothing to show for what I have done,
I see that this curse has finally won . . .”


(OK, I just wanted to try somethin new. And since I am german I decided to
put in some of the German language in this poem.)
