Coffee In The Sun

I drink coffee during the summer
I write poetry while the walls move.
The only place available to sit in here
is by the window
and no one wants to drink
coffee
in the sun.

My shoulders hurt when I wake up
my head spins as I try to think in words.
The only comfort available here,
is caffiene in a latte with vanilla
and no one wants to drink
coffee
in the sun.

Maybe I should have stayed at home
but something nagged me to be here.
So I sit and write and push against
the cold metal of the table legs
because no one wants to drink
coffee
in the sun.

I feel so cliche`; like a freshman girl
and high school is my enemy.
So I sit and take in adult things
because no one else would drink
coffee
in the sun.

I had to take the furthest seat
I had to be alone.
Now I'm drinking hot caffiene
while sweating in the sun.
