Don’t leave us here
Mothers who forget you and live a life of sin,
Fathers who reject you and throw you in the bin.
No wonder life is so hard, no wonder we can’t bear it,
Our Birthdays come and each Christmas goes,
No cards appear from the postman though.
We sit alone and watch the tree, no wonder we can’t bear it.
Gentle Jesus, please bring mummy here,
We don’t care for toys, or teddy dear.
We need to be hugged, no wonder we can’t bear it.
Memories hurt and the children cry,
but who is there to answer why.
Don’t show your feelings any more, no wonder we can’t bear it.
A new child comes and you hold it tight,
Will you love us?…..you might, you might.
No tender hugs, no loving smile, no wonder we can’t bear it.
You hit us, hurt us and left scars in our thoughts,
Then gave us over to the courts,
Hush new baby, don’t say a word, no wonder we can’t bear it.
We still see you when we shut our eyes,
When we close our ears, we still hear your lies,
No wonder life is so hard, and no wonder we can’t bear it!
