“In Time To Save Your Hand From Burning”
Strike up your last match
hold it in your hand
pressed between your fingers
the burning light fades slowly
as the tip turns yellow and singes
your hand your hand your hand
let the last spark from that stick
touch the wick of my candle
touch the end of my torch
the path to you is cold and dark
your light is so warm but so far off
the honesty in your smile is worth my while
I pull at the cords that bind me here
tear them apart so I can walk to you
got my c.d. player and your picture as my company
Billy Talent, Coheed & Cambria, Rage Against The Machine
open the Doors and walk on through them to my garage
take my car and key the ignition
floor the pedal until all the petals fall off the flower I gave you
or until I run run Out Of Gas
strike up your last match
hold it in your hand
pressed between your fingers
watch it burn burn down
I will be there before it touches your fingers
strike up your last match
I’ll be there before it dies…….
