The Flame

I don’t know how to describe
The hot flame that resides
But when I see you with her
It burns up my insides
I’m stuck behind a wall now
To watch everything you do
I know that you believe me
I know you know it’s true!
So why do you let her do this?
What sort of magnet’s within?
This angry flame is eating me
Right out of my own skin
Please save me if you can
But rescue yourself first
I just want what’s best for you
You seem to want the worst
So go, go in your cage now
There’s nothing more for me
If you want to I’ll help you
I’ll always have the key
I just don’t want to lose you
Though I think I am too late
I can feel it inside of me
Her “love” is not your fate
So why should I even worry?
What’s holding me to you?
I guess it’s because I’m worried
That she will hurt you too
So do whatever you may
‘Cause it’s your life, not mine
Though this flame burns long
I’ll make it, I’ll be fine
