“Their Walls Cannot Hold Us”
Throw away my key
don’t bother to write me
I will be ok someday
slip your last letter under my door
and wave back as you walk away
leave your name sign out at the register
everything will be all right again
yeah everything will be all right again
did you lock up when you went home
did you sleep with him or alone
it is not really my concern I’m just fishing
fishing for a good conversation from behind
behind this glass wall it is bulletproof
swear an oath written in blood
never fall out no never grow old
rot behind these cold steel bars for a thousand years
but don’t change the way you live and don’t leave
don’t leave me behind
everything will be all right again
yeah everything will be all right again
tell me your innocent tell them your innocent
I will believe you when no one else will
I will pick you up when they cut off your legs
I will guide your way when they pull out your eyes
everything will be all right again
yeah everything will be all right again
closing closing in on you
take my hand now
I will make this all go away
wipe the slate clean and turn the clock back
oh no we cannot do that
what we started we must finish
don’t detour from the course just before the end
every ending is the start of a new beginning
you are headed in your own direction
and I am walking in my own path
look at all our devastation
man there’s never been any one like us
never been anyone like you and me
everything will be all right again
yeah everything will be all right again
everything will be all right again
yeah everything will be all right again……
