You look at yourself and what do you see
Someone looking back, drenched in envy
The last three years weren't so plain
Another four years and it feels the same
They tell you it's a different school: No one knows you there
You tell them you know what will happen, and still, they don't care
They don't understand the pain you go through
So many times where you don't know what to do
Very little friends, so many laughs
Maybe you'll think twice about looking back
Even they tell you just to ignore them
But they think they understand
Deep down, you know differently
The truth you hide, affecting them slightly
You think about crossing the line, counting the days
Hiding behind poetry; phrase after phrase
Each word written down leaves one more scar
Sometimes helping you escape someplace far
But you still wake up, ending this dream
Things may not be as good as you want them to seem
You come out of your room and your family's fighting
Everyday's a stormy night, every word's a bolt of lightening
Go back upstairs, they don't want you there;
Just the three of them, that's how it should've been
You've been told those things all of your life
Up until they find you, dead or alive
Go ahead, keep crying, nobody will care
What they don't know won't hurt them, right? Now is that fair?
You know you can fix this, you're just too afraid
Thinking it will all get worse, day after day
You finally find a solution, but it slips through your hands
Farther away from the answer now, no one understands
All you want is to start over again
Life is a maze, eventually it will end
You wake up one day and you know the truth
That maybe this world just isn't for you
