dying for a ride

tell me, am i wrong for trying to believe in love?
something neither proven fact or fiction?
is it really that wrong to want the warm glow on your heart?
maybe if i stand still here it will hit me in the back and say "have
you been waiting long?"
i'll respond with a smile and a romantic cliche

this. can't. be. here.
i dont or didnt think id find it
we. should. fly.
but someone poked holes in my wings

night upon night we think to ourselves, 'could it be?'
though others deny some prefer to dream
put together the most beautiful of fantasies and create a life
all in the mind we watch our lives on the monitor
playing it out scene by scene
sand slowly slipping to the bottom of the hour glass

silver. stars. shine.
a strange sparkle in your eye
pick. me. up.
i'm dying for a ride, i'm dying
