I crave the warmth of your arms around me,
I need you to protect me from myself,
I want you to find my hidden secrets,
but I cant let you that close.

It's been so long since I last tasted
the cool breeze of freedom air.
I was shut away in this prison,
and only i hold the key.
You try to pull away the bars around me,
but I wont let you.

I'm still trying to pick up the pieces
of my long-ago shattered dreams,
but I can't let them go.
They won't let me go.

My world is slipping away,
a thousand obscurities,
distorted voices in my head.

Galloping in with your white horse and streaming banner,
you try to rescue me,
my Knight in Shining Armor.
But I am the dragon you must slay,
I am my own prisoner.
so many years, I have stayed locked in this tower,
I've become so confused, so lost in this fairy-tale world.
I try to hide from the one who can rescue me,
while my heart and my spirit fade away.
This Damsel in Distress needs someone to save her,
but i am the only one who can set me free.
