“Letter of Love To My Sister”
Alone in my room I sit on my bed
lights dim and stereo loud to cover my voice
I poison the air with my terrible singing
I listen to acoustic Coheed
wanting to fulfill your needs
something good to make you happy again
I saw a glimpse of what I really miss
when you smiled at me today
when you laughed on the phone to me
they wouldn’t let me see you out the door
I wish I could see you into my arms now
get transfixed in your silver eyes
the way they shimmer when locked in mine
I want to break every rule I would give all my life
just to spend one small tiny moment
in your life as more than the close friend I’ve become
I want you to look at me and say
How is my brother today?
I want to look at you and say
How is my sister today?
how are you today?
I ask how you are
and then I wait for a response
any murmured word from your angel’s voice
are you ok?
are you ok my dear?
Meghan are you all right?
