As I Slip Away

Let the dust settle
Around this broken body
Let the ground stop quaking before you grace it with your touch
I’d give you my heart
But I can’t you see
Whoever did this too me thought that my love was too deep, too much
I just want to say

I can’t love you too deeply
To the depths of the ocean is only the start
I can’t give you too much
All the riches in the world is but the surface of my heart
I’d go to the ends of the world
To find the perfect rose for you to grace with your eyes
To find you the freshest air
I’d tear apart, roam the farthest reaches of the skies
Remember that as I slip away

Turn away, please
I don’t want to see you unhappy
I can’t bear the thought of your eyes welling with tears
Don’t worry, I’ll be fine
I feel no pain, I’ll
Be going to a place where I will have no fears
I just want to say

I can’t love you too deeply
To the depths of the ocean is only the start
I can’t give you too much
All the riches in the world is but the surface of my heart
I’d go to the ends of the world
To find the perfect rose for you to grace with your eyes
To find you the freshest air
I’d tear apart, roam the farthest reaches of the skies
Remember that as I slip away

Before I go, I wish to mend your heart
Every time the rain pours, it’ll be me
Weeping because we’re apart
But I’ll be fine, because you I’ll see
From the tops of the clouds
And you won’t have to be sad
The thunder rolls loud
That’s me assuring you that nothing’s bad

I’m saying
I can’t love you too deeply
To the depths of the ocean is only the start
I can’t give you too much
All the riches in the world is but the surface of my heart
I’d go to the ends of the world
To find the perfect rose for you to grace with your eyes
To find you the freshest air
I’d tear apart, roam the farthest reaches of the skies
Remember that as I slip away

I can’t love you too deeply
To the depths of the ocean is only the start
I can’t give you too much
All the riches in the world is but the surface of my heart
I’d go to the ends of the world
To find the perfect rose for you to grace with your eyes
To find you the freshest air
I’d tear apart, roam the farthest reaches of the skies
Remember that as I slip away
