You’re pretty sure
That skyscraper
Will last an eternity
And you think
That it’ll be there
For all to see

Naivety has taken
A firm hold on your mind
You think you’re a part of
Something to last for all time

But

Did you think
That the walls
Of Eden would shake?
Did you think
That the pillars
Of the Coliseum would quake?
Did you think
That the towers
Of Atlantis would fall?
In the future
The things that are here now
Might not be here at all

Pressed for time
You want to
Have time to spare
You don’t know
That in time
You’re work won’t be there

Naivety has taken
A firm hold on your mind
You think your part of
Something to last for all time

But

Did you think
That the walls
Of Eden would shake?
Did you think
That the pillars
Of the Coliseum would quake?
Did you think
That the towers
Of Atlantis would fall?
In the future
The things that are here now
Might not be here at all

Did you think?
Did you think?
Did you think
That the walls
Of Atlantis would fall?
In the future
The things that are here now
Might not be here at all

Did you think?
Did you think?
Did you think?

Did you think
That the walls
Of Eden would shake?
Did you think
That the pillars
Of the Coliseum would quake?
Did you think
That the towers
Of Atlantis would fall?
In the future
The things that are here now
Might not be here at all

Did you think
That the walls
Of Eden would shake?
Did you think
That the pillars
Of the Coliseum would quake?
Did you think
That the towers
Of Atlantis would fall?
In the future
The things that are here now
Might not be here at all
In the future
The things that are here now
Might not be here
At all
