Mourning Son

Did you hear about the kid down the street
Maybe half a block away
He tripped over his own two feet
Just the other day
His mom saw him and came outside
I think to help him up
But he ran away, as though to hide
So he wouldnt look helpless before us
Well his mom, you see, she passed away
And he never said goodbye
He was lost in his own infantile ways
Was wrong, he knows, so he wont cry
He just sleeps all night
Then wakes up with the day
He can no longer hide from the light
And all the folks, when they talk they say
"Ya know, hes our mourning son...
He reminds us that we have to wake up
From our days we can not run..."
