My life in this skin,
But what is my sin?
Why do they torture me?
Why won’t they let me be?

My life as a nigra,
How I wish I was a zebra,
Roaming free across the land,
Colours working hand in hand.

Both black and white upon my back,
No more torment for this man so black,
What is it in this skin I lack?
How I long to just escape this trap.

My life so sorry and deceased,
Why do they hate me, I am no beast,
Rope around my neck I long to die,
I jump to fate and say goodbye.
