Long ago, when we were kids,
Dreams were but a grasp away.
Now that we are young adults,
We keep our inner thoughts at bay.
So how is it, we go from innocent to tainted,
In just a blink of an eye?
The pain and loneliness we now feel,
Is built up, to our brim, to the sky.
But the darkness doesn't always have to win,
I assure you, there's a way out.
To find the happiness that lies within,
You have but to look about.
There is always someone that will lend a hand,
You but to ask for the help.
For then winter will turn to summer,
And the ice begin to melt.
Until that time comes to me,
I'll wait here with a light.
And know that dreams are but future events,
So I'll just wait and hold on tight.
