A stranger came and gently knock at my door
A beautiful smile He wore
His appearance was so enticing
His eyes so inviting, I was tempted to let him in
He opened his mouth and the words that He spoke
I've heard them so many times before
He said I know what you're been going through
Your friends and family have deserted you
if you open up and let me inside you'll see,
I'll keep you from forgiving them, thats the key!
He said it's OK not to forgive for no one really cares
I'll keep on reminding you of this all your days
Just opened up now and invite me inside
I'll take control of your thoughts if you let me abide
I listened intentently but kept my door securely locked
I knew time was running out by the ticking of the clock
A decision I must make before He turns and walk away
then I will be left here without a friend to brighten my day
Suddenly! they came another knock on my door
this was was louder and audible than the one before
I said How familiar, this knock speaks with authority
He does not seemed well dressed but his Love sure caught me
He said It's Me, Jesus the One who bled and died for you
I saw your infirmities and even when you were feeling blue
I spoke to you on many occasions, but you were blinded by fear
You would not listen to me, but instead by this first stranger standing
here
He's imposter I tell you and his time is running out
So He came here to entice you with his venomous mouth
Please take ahold of my hand Child, Your Father is here
Take ahold of my promise when I said that your burdens I'll bear
That's the reason why on Mt. Calvary I suffered and bled
So that you can go free when all is done and said
Now abide in my word and let my word abide in you
Temptations will come no matter what you do
But I have made a way out from snares of the enemy
Stand firm and be not entangled in the sin that you see
It was for YOU that I stayed in agony on that cross
A thousand angels I could have called but I counted the cost
I have to leave now but I am coming back someday
You'll know me by my voice, I come to repay!
Look up now your redemption draweth nigh
The curtain will roll back and you'll be with me on high
I opened the door slowly, both strangers were gone
I learned a lesson today, a new soul reborn!!
