A beautiful rose upon the mantle sits
a reminder of his love to her
She gazed at it with sorrowful heart
Today is the day they must part

How can she tell him she's moving on
without breaking his heart in two
He's always been a true dear Lover
but her heart now belongs to another

She gently reached out and took the rose
as she placed it close to her heart
thinking of the days as they walked the nights
under the moonlit sky where the stars shone bright
