“Toppled Steeple (Staring Up)”
I can’t think tonight
nothing wants to come out right
I am more insecure than I show
small tragic defeats bring me to tears
weak mind caves in from the outside
wanting to build a shell in which I can hide
my body quivers and shakes with you not here
box of razors looking a little too appealing now
this is why I don’t trust myself alone
don’t leave don’t leave me now
leave the light off and come to bed
don’t let me speak now
my words will scare you my dear
but keep me awake tonight
I am afraid of sleep and the nightmares
the nightmares that accompany it
I am more insecure than I show
small tragic defeats bring me to tears
seems today has un-earthed all my fears
maybe this is me just paranoid
maybe this is me just paranoid
maybe this is me at my most pathetic
this is my heart on my sleeve
cold shaking and goose bumped skin
where are you
where are you
this is my heart gasping for air
this is me
staring up at love from the bottom of despair
this is me
staring up from the bottom
up from the bottom……
