The rain pounds the pavement outside of my room
Thunder and lightning in the clouds do loom
I glance out the window at the passerby
And not a one of them feel they will ever get dry
The trees sway to and fro
Knowing not which way to go
I see a bird hiding under its wing
Obviously not in any mood to sing
One by one I watch the leaves crash down
Joining the others strewn all around
The flowers rejoice in the refreshing streams
I watch each drop before a cars high beams
