The Icy Graveyard of Her Heart

Yay my 100th poem! hehe!

Ticking by the hands of time,
Fading to nothing in the midst of the night,
The tears they vanish to oblivion,
Lost for eternity and gone is the light.

For hands are offered but wait they do not,
Raise her hopes from the dead and then leave is their plot,
But no longer she sees a mere glimpse of this dream,
For her eyes now glazed over can’t see past all the steam.

And her icy graveyard looms in her heart,
Just awaiting her soul to recline in her dreams,
For so many dead still alive far within her,
And she knows it’s not long ‘til the past starts to stir.

Truly she knows she belongs right there with them,
And she will not stop looking for the road to herself,
But she’s so lost in her mind that directions don’t change,
And the dead in her graveyard are far out of range.

But one day afar the ice it shall melt,
As awaken she does not from her dreams,
But she’ll wake up past this world to right where she belongs,
In her graveyard of dreams now so very far gone.
