Across the golden field,
To the forest,
I run forever-
Trying to find you-
Amongst the tall trees that shadow
The crisp light from my eyes,
The grass moist and green,
Soft beneath my feet
There is only me, where are you?
Over the brambles,
Through the hot fog,
I lurk for you as if a hawk.
Searching under the overgrown vines,
Past the old tree house,
Rotted as it is damp, from our childhood
The memories make me sigh.
Like it was just yesterday,
To be there again
I remember it like the back of my hand,
Do you remember?
The sound of laughter and singing
With the smell of dead flowers,
Drying on the wall
Us touching shoulders
To embarrassed to talk
But I always liked that about you....
And how you would hide in the forest
even though I could never find you
even now,
I feel you are beside me, always
Because I’ll never leave I swear
So stay with me forever
And I’ll search for you in the moonlight
We’ll pick roses in twilight
Until I open my eyes,
goodbye love, I’ve finally found you
sadly I say, ‘It was only a dream’
