Scarlet Thread

Look into the bouls of my soul.
What do you see?
Darkness...
And a scarlet thread
That holds it all together
For it...
Is you

Chaos and floating memories...
File cabinents of every letter written
Half of which, I never gave you

Bright smiles and shimmering tears
Hovering over head
Reaching out to grab one
To take away my flowing rivers
To dry out my ocean.

Soft piano notes whisper in your ear
Recordings... memories of things I once said
"I love you..."
"I'm sorry..."

Echoing cries drown the music
Water rushes past your feet
Running away to keep from getting wet
You come across a tear in the wall
Cringing, you turn around
Only to find another...

And another....

And another...

Finding wrips, bruises, and gauges
Within my inner skin

And yet..
You're still that scarlet thread
That holds me together
"How...?" gently placing your hand upon my soul's wounds
Break down into tears
Feel my pain
See what you put me through...

And yet...
You're still that scarlet
thread.

And I depend on you
