The coals glow white-hot
Throwing their soporific smoke
Into the air of the chamber

The windowless room is lit
By a multitude of candelabras
Their flickering glow
Sends the shadows racing
Across the rough walls

Upon the stone alter
Lies my latest sacrifice
Prepared and anointed for me
She is chained and blindfolded
Awaiting my pleasure

I can deny the hunger no longer
I am forced to feed
Upon her beautiful substance
As I approach she trembles

Though she cannot hear nor see me
She can sense my presence
In the way a rabbit senses a fox
Only when it is far too late

My wings beat a steady rhythm
As I softly land above her
Straddling her form
With my near-naked body

She starts at the sudden feeling
And as I pin her shoulders
Against the stone of the alter
I lean forward swiftly

I drink deep of her very life’s essence
She succumbs quickly
And to my great disappointment
Struggles no more then peremptorily

I feel the force of her lifeblood
Flowing into my veins
And once again I am saved
To hunt yet another moonlit night

As she sleeps the sleep of the near dead
I wonder how she will adapt
To this eternal torment
The growing hunger inside
Which you can-not resist

For I have made her into my likeness
Condemned to haunt eternity
Searching for blood
With no surcease and no death
Yet another Vampire Queen of the night
